KMOV Channel 4 Tells St. Louis About a Beautiful Morning of Help & Hope

Help & Hope is back — and this time, KMOV Channel 4's Paige stopped by to see it firsthand.

Once again, JOY FM and BOOST Radio opened the phone lines for a morning of prayer, no matter what listeners were carrying into the new year. And this round set a new mark: 30 pastors and counselors answered calls — more than any Help & Hope morning before it.

A New Year, A Lot on People's Minds

January has its own kind of weight. It's the season of fresh starts and resolutions, but for a lot of people it's also a season of looking at the year ahead and wondering what it will hold.

Paige spent time with one of the counselors on the phones that morning — someone who's taken part in Help & Hope nearly every year it's happened. She had just wrapped a 30-minute call, and it stayed with her.

"I just spoke with one of those local counselors who has taken part in this nearly every year, and she said she just wrapped up a 30 minute call that was filled with beauty and joy," Paige said. "She was in tears, she was emotional over it, because it was such a wonderful call. But whether you are navigating through something wonderful or difficult, these are the local pastors and counselors that want to meet you where you are."

What God Is Doing in Our City

671 conversations in one morning is a lot of numbers. But behind each one is something harder to measure — a person who reached out, and a God who was already there waiting to meet them in it.

That's what keeps showing up in St. Louis morning after morning, year after year. Whether the call is joyful or hard, celebratory or heavy, the same thing is true on the other end of the line — someone made time to sit in it with them.
