KMOV Channel 4's Paige Hulsey Joins JOY FM for a Morning of Help & Hope

This January, KMOV Channel 4's Paige Hulsey stopped by our Help & Hope morning — sitting down with Bryce from JOY FM's morning show, Joy in the Morning, to see what a morning of prayer looks like from the inside.

That morning, 20 pastors and counselors filled the phone lines from 6 to 10 a.m., and 706 people called or texted in looking for prayer.

Paige didn't waste time getting to why a morning like this matters right now. "This day and age, you're bombarded with robots and screens," Paige said. "You don't get a ton of opportunities to talk to real people who actually care."

Heavy Stories, Held Onto Hope

Bryce talked with Paige about what it's like to be in the room while those calls come in — conversations about marriage struggles, finances, abuse, and things far heavier than small talk.

Paige reflected on what stood out to her most.

"When I hear some of the stories that they are sharing — whether it's a listener struggling with their marriage, finances, or abuse, or some really serious issues — it would be easy to feel like that's a heavy topic," Paige said. "But I'm walking away with this belief that those people are calling in not because they're hopeless, but because they actually are still holding onto some hope. They want to talk this through because they see, 'wait, this can be a changing point.'"

What God Is Doing in Our City

That's the thread running through every Help & Hope morning — 706 people didn't call in because they'd given up. They called because somewhere underneath the hard thing they're carrying, they believed that God is still in control. And on the other end of the line, a pastor or counselor was ready to sit in it with them and remind them that's true.

That's God still at work in St. Louis.
